How exciting, the days are getting longer, the sun is shining , flowers are blooming, spring is in the air and the big day is getting closer for all you lucky spring brides! As most of us aren’t expert florists, I thought I’d give you a few ideas for bouquets and table flower decorations perfect for spring-time nuptials.
For a native look, blushing bride is in season right now and it couldn’t be a more fitting name for a wedding. The white petals with pink tips provide a soft, pretty look and are perfect for a country or garden theme.
Baby’s breath has been a classic bouquet filler for brides for decades, especially in the 80s, but it disappeared for a few years. Now it’s back in fashion, which I’m very excited about! To give it a modern twist, rather than pairing it with other flowers, let it shine on its own. It’s the perfect bouquet for a bohemian bride.
If you are looking for something with a divine sent, look no further than freesias and hyacinths, which have just starting blooming. Freesias come in a rainbow of colours to suit any colour palette, and why not carry blue hyacinths as your something blue? Sweet peas are another fragrant spring flower if you’re after a more delicate scent. It works well as a table centrepiece and the perfume won’t clash with the delicious smells of the food. The pastel shades also make it right on trend!
For warm yellow and orange colours, poppies look fabulous in a farmhouse setting. Although I’d suggest you save them for decoration purposes, or mix them with other blooms in your bouquet for something extra-special. Tulips can also be used in your bouquet or on the tables, and their simple elegance and range of colour options make them a stunning choice for spring.
And last but not least, for a fabulous floral decoration statement, sculptural cherry blossoms look spectacular grouped together in a tall vase.
I hope this has inspired you. Meanwhile, I suddenly feel the urge to go out and smell some flowers!
What flowers will you use for your big day?
