My Day My Way

MY DAY MY WAY: SADIK AND LAUREN; I guess I was going for a beach style wedding, our favours were little boats with sugared almonds tied on the back, that also doubled as place cards (which I spent hours writing the names on). My dress was a little more formal than the beach theme we had set, and although trying on many wedding dresses that would suit the beach, I tried this particular one on and just knew it was “The One” regardless of the theme of the wedding. I am (as well as my husband) a very 'leave it to the last minute' sort of person, so the planning became quite stressful towards the end. We only got our DJ 2 weeks before the wedding (even though we had over a year to plan it)! And the biggest hiccup of the whole planning was my bridesmaid dresses! I arranged to have them made up, but that was a disaster, and 3 weeks before the wedding we were looking for new bridesmaid dresses! Luckily I only had two bridesmaids, and we found some dresses that suited both of them! The best part of the day was looking into my husband’s eyes and saying our vows . Not that I am trying to sound cliché, but it’s the complete truth, that at that moment, nothing else in the world mattered, it was as if no-one else existed except for me and him. I will remember that part of the day clear in my mind for the rest of my life, it was as if the world went still and silent in the background and all that mattered was the two of us. We have our professional photo’s back and we were surprised at how many photo’s were taken during the ceremony, especially when we were exchanging our vows and rings. We didn’t even realise she was there! Of course the weather comes in second as it was pouring the day before and in the morning it didn’t look much better, however lucky for us the sun came out in the afternoon, giving a nice still 24?. We couldn’t ask for much more weather wise. And I have to mention all our suppliers, as they were absolutely brilliant, our photographer (number 1!!), our venue, celebrant, and DJ, we wouldn’t change any one of them!
