There’s nothing subtle about sparkles
Where did the years go? At 22, I’ve reached the age where I’m receiving phone calls from many girlfriends squealing that their boyfriend has popped the question. I have an endless list of bridal showers, hens parties and shopping awaiting me – and somehow among all this, I’ve become to go-to girl for all wedding related information. Maybe it has something to do with our ongoing office wedding gown fashion parade that has me feeling like I’m some sort of wedding expert … but here I am throwing around names like I’ve been at Cosmo Bride for four years, rather than four weeks!
In any case, it’s all about the engagement ring for me. You know, to seal the deal. In fact, I found myself this morning, on my way to work, making my list of demands; yellow gold band, square diamond, no frame on a simple solitaire setting. Thanks!
The best part of ring shopping is that there are so many styles out there – and there are no rules. I always stress that guys should pay attention to what jewellery their partner wears on a daily basis. If she’s a silver person, then platinum or white gold is your best friend; if she’s more the traditional type, yellow gold is the way to go; or if she likes things a little bit different, we have quite a soft spot for rose gold in our office. If he’s not sure, it’s probably safer to design something with the girl in question.
