All glammed up
You know how there are some things or times in life that you dream about and dream about, and when you get them you’ve built it up so much in your mind that you get disappointed? Like that Barbie campervan you wanted for Christmas, or your first Razor scooter? Becoming an intern at Cosmopolitan magazine and having my very own photo shoot was NOT one of those times.
This day was everything I had dreamed of and oh so much more.
First the clothes. Six outfit changes into some of the cutest dresses and most AMAZING shoes I’ve ever seen. And it’s not just a random assortment of clothes – I had a real live (and very pretty) STYLIST choose out every single piece of clothing just for ME and I wanted to take them all home with me. (Sidenote: The only upsetting part of the day was that I didn’t get to take home the clothes or shoes, but I think I’ll live.)
Then there are the millions of people (OK, so like eight or 10) running around organising things for you. There’s lighting, props, a photographer, someone to steam your clothes, someone to bring you lunch, someone to zip up your shoes (no joke!), and all of them are the nicest people you’ve ever met. To be completely honest, I did sit down and watch The Devil Wears Prada as preparation for life in the magazine world, and I could not have been more wrong. Not only were they steaming my outfits, zipping my shoes and bringing me lunch – they were also telling me how pretty I was and how well I was doing. I wish I had these guys to help me get ready every day. Wouldn’t life be great!
But what about the hair and makeup, I hear you ask? WELL! It’s like your formal day – times a THOUSAND! Admittedly, I haven’t had a wedding day, so it may be similar to that. But, I have to say, this may just top being a bride because I didn’t have to share my photos with a groom or bridal party – it was just me, me, me! Haha!
So, to finish, I want to thank the many beautiful people who made my day spectacular at the photo shoot. There are few times in your life that you really do feel like a princess (not to exclude the many royals currently reading this blog. Hey Mary! Hey Kate!), but this was definitely one of those days!
