Introducing Britney Jean Spears: singer, dancer, serial tabloid headliner and bona fide icon.

Here at Cosmo, we've been sure Britney was set to make a comeback - and when she appeared at this year's MTV Video Music Awards (where she scooped three Moon Men), we decided it was high time that Britney made a return to our cover.

Sure, Brit's been through some rough times (K. Fed, the umbrella incident, the baby-behind-the-steering-wheel story) but gosh darn it, don't we love her? We decided to chart Britney's rise - and fall - through her VMA appearances over the years. From that kiss with Madonna to that nude shocker, one thing is clear: Britney is a born entertainer. I am sooo glad she's back. This woman has been through so much. Yes she made mistakes but they were mistakes that the everyday person makes. Only thing with Britney was that it was caught on camera for everyone to see. I'm so happy that she's making her way back. And it's good to see her surrounding herself with real friends - not those backstabbing fake ones like Allie Sims and Sam Lutfi! Good to see her with her family again.   Report thisReport this

Congratulations Britney! You look STUNNING!! The world has watch her turn from a teenage girl to a women. This women has been through some of the worst life experiences and look at her now! I think this slideshow should be titled 'The Rise, Fall and Rise'. I always knew she would make a comeback. We all go through a rebelious stage, she just didn't have time to go through it during her teenage years like most of us do. Congrats to her for coming back on top.
