Billy Ray Cyrus has responded to the frenzy he caused by posting a photo of Miley in a white dress and saying he was so 'happy' for her.
Miley's dad posted the photo on Instagram again, and added the caption "Whoa! Don't jump the gun," before adding he was "Glad to see so many love @MileyCyrus the same as I do #happy."
From that response it appears we might have indeed jumped the gun, and that Billy Ray's unfortunate pairing of a photo of Miley in a white dress with a sentimental caption was just an Embarrassing Dad Moment. #parentsonsocialmedia
It's also a sign that after months of rumours about Miley and Liam planning to marry we're all dying with excitement for it to be true, but maybe - just maybe - it's time we calmed our farms.
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s love story is truly one for the ages. They met on-set, fell in love, got engaged, broke up, got back together, adopted some dogs, and now? Well apparently they’ve gone and got married in secret.
After confirming they were back on and making the world believe in love again last year, speculation has been rife about the pair’s wedding plans with many choosing to believe they’re already married.
Enter: Embarrassing Dad of The Year, Billy Ray Cyrus, who has added serious fuel to the fire with his latest Instagram post.
Miley is wearing a white, boho-chic number - just the kind of thing you could imagine her getting married in - and looks like she's never been happier - you know, exactly how you'd feel if Liam freaking Hemsworth had just agreed to be your husband until your dying breaths.
Add to that the sentimentality of Billy Ray's caption "I'm so happy you are happy" and you can see why the internet is losing its shit.
It's worth noting Miley hasn't posted on Instagram for a week, and she's usually quite a regular poster. Meanwhile Liam hasn't shared a post for two weeks - could they be laying low to avoid the paparazzi?
Last we heard, Miley and Liam were planning to tie the knot in Nepal soon, at least according to Life & Style magazine.
"Miley has a real hippie side and wants to embrace that rather than spending millions," a supposed 'insider' said (um, who spends millions on a wedding? The wedding favours would have to be actual gold bars?).
"She wants to focus on the spiritual side of marriage and is very interested in Hinduism, so she is looking at locations in Nepal, where Hinduism is a way of life," the source continued, adding that yoga and meditation would be involved in the festivities.
The comments on Billy Ray's post are blowing up, so hopefully he doesn't keep us hanging much longer.
