what about other effective contraceptions?
Katie
In response to Kira's post, what is the injection you are using? I havent heard anything of it and am interested to learn. I'm 22 and have only ever used condoms but my partner and I are both so sick of them, we have been together for 3 years so i'm willing to trust another form of contraception a little more now.. I am also considering the implanon but am iffy about that the same as the pill because of the weight gain and its un-realiability if I want to have a drink..Can anyone help me?

I've got the implanon (rod) in my arm and i've had it for about 8 months. You get irregular bleeding so your period could be anytime...after a few months it gets into a regular routine. Its about $30 for the actual implant but you have to pay for the consults and appointment to put it in. Doesn't really hurt being put in apart from that theres no pain. You can feel it under the skin which i reckons pretty cok because you can always make sure its there (though where is it really going to get to!)

in responce to the artice "60% of women are using the wrong contraception". i would like to add that i am on the depo injection, its a once every 3 month thing and you dont get a period, and dont fall pregnant. It is highly effective and been around for a long time, so why is it never talked about when magazines do story's on different types of effective and safe contraceptions? i think women should be informed on this form of protection, not just the usual pill an condom. cheers :)
