When Kim Kardashian and Kanye West revealed their youngest daughter's baby name, the internet went into complete and utter overdrive. The name, Chicago West, quickly became the subject of glorious memes and genius puns.

But it turns out the couple almost didn't call her 'Chicago' at all. That's right.

And their second favourite name was surprisingly normal.

In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Kim revealed they almost called her 'Jo'.

"It really messes with me," Kim admitted about Chicago being a three-syllable name. "I really wanted the one syllable thing," like North and Saint.

"We were going to name her Jo, because of my grandmother, Mary Jo," Kim explains, before adding that 'Grace' was also a possible.

She went on to say that the last name they considered was in honour of Kanye's late mother, Donda.

"He really wanted his mother's name, and I love that name too, but I just wasn't sure," Kim revealed. "It's so much to live up to."

But in the end, Kim and Kanye decided on Chicago. "I just felt Chicago was cool and different, we call her Shy, so it's North, Saint, and Shy," Kim added.
