Roxy Jacenko has revealed that she’s been diagnosed with breast cancer.

The PR queen told the Daily Telegraph that she discovered a lump on her breast about 10 days ago, and is waiting for the results of a test to know how much, if any, the cancer has spread.

The devastating news comes just three weeks after Roxy’s husband Oliver Curtis was found guilty of insider trading and is set to serve at least a year in prison.

"What I have experienced in the past three weeks is the most shocking thing I have ever experienced. I don’t think there is anything that could shock me more now."

The mother of Pixie, four, and Hunter, two, said she broke the news to Oliver in a six-minute phone call – the longest time inmates are allowed at Parklea Correctional Centre.

“It is not like he can pick up the phone any time, so when he does phone it is for a very short period of time,” she said, adding that he didn’t take the news well.

She also had the difficult task of telling Pixie, who picked up that something was wrong.

“She cried on Monday night because I said I wasn't going to come home for two nights because I would be in hospital.”

Breast cancer runs in Roxy’s family – her mum Doreen developed and eventually beat the disease 10 years ago.

It’s a reminder to check your breasts regularly and report anything unusual to a doctor immediately.
