RuPaul marries his boyf of 23 years because the world isn't always a dark, cruel place

In a world where Donald Trump is president and our morning commute is ruined by torrential rain despite it literally being March 16th, it can sometimes be difficult to be optimistic about the state of the world. But fear not, good things do happen, joy does still exist, and we have proof: Living legend and Supermodel of the World RuPaul has just married his Australian boyf of 23 years, Georges LeBar. ICYMI, RuPaul is the host of RuPaul's Drag Race, a reality TV show that is kind of like America's Next Top Model for drag queens and may or may not be the best show on television (spoiler: it definitely is).

In an interview with Hollywood Today Live, RuPaul revealed that he and his long-time love tied the knot earlier this year to celebrate their 23rd anniversary. "I've never said this on television before: we are married," he said. "I met [George] on the dance floor at Limelight [nightclub] in 1994 on his birthday. We got married this year on the anniversary of when we met".

Thanks to my extensive stalking research, I also happen to know about the EXACT moment Ru and George met.

Speaking to Oprah on her Where Are They Now series, he said he was first drawn to George's dancing. “He was on the dance floor dancing like a maniac. I had to go over and say, ‘What are you going through?’" he laughed. "And it’s also because he’s actually 6’7’, so he’s taller than I am — so of course I had to notice him.’" For context, RuPaul is 6'4, so there's a strong chance they stand out while out on the town together.

Ru also told Buzzfeed that George came in his life after he had been praying to meet the right guy. Ru is 56 now, so was 33 when he and George met. "He's so kind and funny. I remember praying, 'I want a sweet, sensitive man,' and I got an Australian who's just lovely."

TBH, our hearts are exploding even more than when Raven and Jujubee went up against each other in that lipsync battle in All Star's season 1 and RuPaul let them both stay.

It sounded like it was quite a low-key affair, so we're unlikely to see any snaps of the nuptials. But either way, CONDRAGULATIONS YOU TWO <3.
