YASS! Models walked down this NYFW show with anti-chafing thigh bands

Remember the world’s recent fascination with the ‘thigh gap’, and how much you hated the BS trend? Same. Well, one designer at New York Fashion Week is here to make women of every shape and size feel good about their bodies, and we’re totally here for it.

Becca McCharen Tran from Chromat has long advocated for model diversity, and her latest show was no exception. Her runway featured everyone from Denis Bidot to Jordyn Woods (Kylie Jenner’s bootylicious BFF) to walk, and the whole thing is giving us major feel-good vibes.

One of the best parts? Gals were given anti-chafing thigh bands to wear down the catwalk, so they could strut their stuff with total ease, comfort and confidence.

Made by the brand, Bandelettes, these special straps are elasticised, silky soft and designed to reduce the irritation caused by friction.

Plus, for $20 a pop, we really, really want a pair.

So what’s the big deal, you ask? To put it simply, these anti-chafing bands embrace the opposite of the ‘thigh gap’, showing that every woman can be a ~Catwalk Kween~ (no matter what her thighs look like).

“This show has so many curvy girls,” Bidot explained backstage at Chromat. “It’s not just a few of us. We’re not going anywhere and the next generation knows it.”

While the industry still has a long way to go on the inclusivity front, this is definitely a step in the right direction.
