Priyanka Chopra is in talks to bring Bollywood to prime-time with sitcom based on Indian film star Madhuri Dixit.
The Baywatch star is developing a story around Dixit’s relocation to Denver, Colorado during the height of her fame (she’s a big, BIG star you guys!) to be with her cardiologist husband Shriram Nene, and their two children.
As per Variety:
“The currently untitled single-camera series would follow a former Bollywood star who settles down in the suburbs of America with her bi-cultural family and tries to bring her colorful lifestyle to an otherwise dull town. The series is based on the real life of Madhuri Dixit, who will also executive produce.”
According to Variety the show will be penned by Bollywood writer Sri Rao, who has also written for shows like “General Hospital: Night Shift.” Rao will also executive produce along with Dixit and her husband.
Priyanka took to Instagram to talk about her new project and her new role as a producer.
"The incredible Madhuri Dixit's real life has been the inspiration behind Sri Rao’s amazing story, and I can't wait to work with the both of them to see how this will pan out," the Quantico star wrote alongside a post about the upcoming show.
While we still aren’t sure who will actually star in the show we’re sure Bollywood fans won’t be disappointed with the kind of cameo star power a Chopra/Dixit production can elicit.
