It's a universal fact that snuggling up with someone is so much better when it's cold. Extra body heat to warm you up: win. No chance of sticking together with summer sweat: another win.
Turns out we're all on the same page with Tinder confirming your chances of matching are much higher depending on the time of year.
If you're a self-confessed Tinder addict or haven't used your account in a while, you might want to make sure that baby is firmly downloaded on your phone because new research shows winter is shaping up to be the perfect time to get your swipe on.
In the last month alone, Aussie Tinder usage has gone up a whopping 18%. With more people using the app, more people are likely to come across your profile and BOOM, there's more chance of matching with that hottie on the train.
You're also going to see a lot more guys looking for their 'spooning buddy' in their bio but you know what, that's okay in winter.
With all that cuddling up in mind, here are some easy ways to winter-fy your profile (don't hate the player, hate the game):
1. Swap out your summer beach photos for winter vibes
If you don't already have a pic of you looking cute by the fire while cradling a glass of red, it's time to make that happen.

2. Add some cheeky winter date ideas to your bio
Giving hints about the kind of activities you're into has two benefits. By suggesting a few different activities, there's less of an onus on the other person to always come up with something fun to do.
Secondly, by showing you're keen to meet up, you're reducing your chances of ending up in a dreaded textlationship. Possible ideas include being up for ice skating, hunting down chocolate fondue in your suburb, or the classic Netflix & chill — whatever floats your boat.
3. Switch on ‘Tinder Places’ and flag your favourite winter hangouts
The one thing better than finding someone you're super into, is when said person also loves your favourite coffee shop, right?
To turn 'Tinder Places' on, make sure you have downloaded the latest updates for the app. When you're setting up you'll then be asked if you want Places turned on. If you have already hit 'no', simply go into the swipe screen and hit the location pin up the top, next to the flame logo, and follow the instructions.
Happy swiping, folks!
