Serious question: Is Keira Maguire going to be the next ‘Bachelorette’?

This would be a hectic season.

We know, we know — the bloody Bachelor hasn't finished yet, so why are we even thinking about next year's Bachelorette? But, hear us out, because we may be getting the greatest gal of all time in the driving seat!

Keira Maguire, who exploded into our lives during Richie Strahan's season of The Bachelor, was initially labelled as a villain and gained some serious notoriety during the show's airing. However, Keira became a comeback queen when she appeared on Bachelor in Paradise where she managed to make both Jarrod Woodgate and the rest of Australia to fall head-over-heels in love with her.

After leaving Paradise, Keira and Jarrod were going really strong — they got a place in Melbourne together, drank a lot of wine at Jarrod's family vineyard and would post some seriously cute photos on Instagram of them looking majorly loved-up.

However, disaster struck this month and Keira announced that her relationship with Jarrod, after nine months of dating, was over.

She broke the news with a heartbreaking message shared on Instagram. Catch up with the devastating details, here:

But it seems that Keira already has greener pastures in her sights and may become the next Australian Bachelorette!

A source close to Keira spoke to NW about this whole prospect saying:

In fact, NW hears that casting agents are eager to sign Keira, 31, up to the series as fans have "really warmed to her" since her appearance on Bachelor in Paradise earlier this year.

"Everyone has discovered a sweeter side to Keira – and more than ever they want her to have her happily ever after," spills the NW source. "And there's no doubt that she's keen – she's wanted this opportunity for so long!"

Keira herself has actually been pretty vocal about wanting to be the next Bachelorette, saying, "I'd definitely do it! I feel like it's more my thing – at least I have control". Before explaining that she'd have a different approach than previous Bachelorettes, saying, "I would probably be a lot nicer because I wouldn't want to put anyone through what I went through".

Was that some subtle shade at Jarrod's (kind of) exes, Sophie Monk and Ali Oetjen?
