'The Bachelor Australia': The one where we realised Cass and The Honey Badger have a LOT of history

Wait, she's met his brother?

By Susannah Guthrie

Well, we're up to the fifth episode of The Bachelor AKA 'The Cass Wood Torture Chronicles' and, to be honest, I feel lied to.

And no, I'm not just talking about this very obvious Blistex product placement:

Although, it's pretty bad.

Nor am I talking about the fact that Romy is clearly just Sunrise's Samantha Armytage wearing a series of trendy hats as a disguise.

No, I'm talking about all this "history" between Cass and Nick Cummins.

WHAT EXACTLY WENT DOWN? Because, according to both of them, it was just a "couple of dates". To me, that means three-to-five drunken outings to the local cinema or pub. Maybe some fooling around. I don't know. Kids these days are hard to predict.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is not a "couple of dates" face:

This girl is having one long, drawn-out meltdown on national TV and we could take from it one of two things: 1. She's insane. 2. She has a good reason to give so many shits.

I'm voting for the latter. And I'll tell you why. You don't just hang out with the brother of a 'guy you went on a couple of dates with'. Nor do you meet up with the 'guy you went on a couple of dates with' when you're both on the Gold Coast for a family surfing session.

Cass even straight up admitted to OK! Magazine that "nothing ever ended" between her and the Badge.

As Sophie said, "[She] knows way too much. She has strong feelings for him with a very little amount of time spent with him. It doesn't make much sense."

Cass isn't taking this one lying down either. She's confronting Nick about it every chance she gets which, again, suggests she has a leg to stand on.

At the cocktail party, she cornered him and demanded answers.

And we have exclusive live scenes from Nick attempting to dodge Cass's queries:

Look, he didn't exactly shut her down, essentially telling her couldn't show the true extent of his feelings with all these other chicks around.

Honestly, if these two had any semblance of a relationship, then Nick's not really playing nice and Cass has every right to be so inexplicably flustered all the time.

Regardless, it matters that Cass is hanging around. The producers might be trying to dangle Brooke in our faces as the obvious "wifey" (the family picked her, for crying out loud), but mark my words people, this is going to be another Nikki Gogan situation. The ol' bait and switch.

Cass, you may still have a chance yet. After all, Jarrod Woodgate made it to Sophie Monk's final two. Never 4get.
