Previously, contestants had to either stop posting on Instagram for the duration of their time on the show, or switch their accounts to private, to help protect the result and their eliminations secret.
But because social media is life, and it’s more fun to get to know contestants as ~real people~, Channel Ten and Warner Bros. have let them loose on social media — and by loose, we mean they’re provided official photos from the show, and probably need to have their captions pre-approved. Still, it’s better than this time last year, when we all requested to follow Matty J on Instagram, and had to wait patiently as he made his way through approving thousands of people.
And, as the girls on Matty’s season of The Bachelor proved, the end result didn’t get spoiled on social media, even though we had an inkling Laura Byrne would win from the beginning.
Leah Costa told Cosmo that being able to post on social media “makes the experience so much more enjoyable, the fact that you can share more, and it shows more of your personality, with the captions. I feel you can enjoy it heaps more than the other girls from past years. It’s fun — you can share little bits from behind the scenes, bits that might not have been aired. I’m thoroughly enjoying that.”
So, without further ado, here are the accounts you need so you can stay up to date with your favourite The Bachelorette contestants.
