Claw clips made a comeback on the runway at New York Fashion Week

Are we digging the claw clip throwback? (It’s a hell yeah from me!)

'90s hair accessories are making a comeback in high fashion and TBH, I'm all for it! Alexander Wang was one of many designers to get people talking about the next nostalgic moment, thanks to his '80s themed fall show. Models such as Kaia Gerber were spotted down the runway rocking a glossy silver claw clip secured in their hair.

Remember claw clips? Yes, I am referring to the same ones you probably wore in primary school and then swore you'd never wear in public again. Honestly, we haven't seen these bad boys since Friends and Fresh Prince of Bel-Air first aired on our TVs. Talk about kicking it back old school!

Speaking to, Guido Palau, the hairstylist behind the Alexander Wang show, explained why claw clips are new again. "I love the way that something that's been around and has a funny connotation can come back," he said. "Look at the mullet haircut: three or four years ago it was a no-no, and now it's super cool. I love the way that something is reintroduced into fashion and we look at it again in a different way. That's been happening for a while now, things that were considered not cool or a bit of can be rejigged again."

Back in their heyday, claw clips were considered to be daggy but now they are proving to be quite the opposite. Controversial, I know. On a practical level, claw clips do a sweet job at securing your hair in place when opting for a half-up half-down hairdo, which is more than I can say about the humble bobby pin.
