Kylie Jenner’s cosmetics company could soon be worth $1 billion

Kylie Jenner is being called the "Billion-dollar baby" by those in the cosmetics biz.

At 19, Kylie Jenner might be the youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan but she could be well on her way to becoming the richest.

After launching Kylie Cosmetics by Kylie Jenner in February 2016, the company has reportedly done $420 million (aprox. $532 AUD) in sales over the last 18 months, Kris Jenner has told fashion trade publication Women’s Wear Daily.

Kylie, who is notorious for selling out of her beauty products minutes after their release, is queen of promoting her cosmetics line to her 96.4 million Instagram followers, and her social media popularity means business is expected to be good for quite some time.

As per the New York Post:

“Kylie Cosmetics’ sales are expected to hit $386 million this year, a 25 percent jump from last year, WWD reported.

“If sales of the line continue at this rate, Kylie Cosmetics will see $1 billion in sales by 2022.”

WWD also notes that KJ’s impressive sales are pretty stunning considering the short time it’s taken to grow the business into a major player in the cosmetics market:

“For perspective, the Estée Lauder Cos. Inc.-owned Tom Ford Beauty was said to have reached revenues of $500 million after a decade, and the brand is considered to be one of the two fastest growing in Lauder’s portfolio, along with Jo Malone. Bobbi Brown, also part of the Lauder stable, took 25 years to reach the billion-dollar mark in 2016, with L’Oréal’s Lancôme finally hitting the milestone in 2015 after 80 years.”

Billion-dollar baby? Maybe so...
