According to a study, this Victoria's Secret perfume doubles as a mosquito repellent

It’s a bit more expensive than Aerogard but works all the same.

Do you own a bottle of Victoria's Secret Bombshell Eau De Parfum? It's a fragrance that has been around for years (and years and years...) and doesn't look to be going anywhere soon. Bomshell has a light and floral scent, with notes of purple passion fruit, Shangri-la peony and vanilla orchid. Today, we learned that the fragrance is also a multi-tasker; hilariously, Victoria's Secret Bombshell doubles as a mosquito repellent.

A study published in the Journal of Insect Science found that Victoria's Secret Bombshell perfume is a powerful mosquito repellent. Researchers at the New Mexico State University tested a variety of substances to gauge whether they were effective in keeping mozzies away; most of the liquids were certified mosquito repellents but they threw in a few fragrances for good luck.

During the trial, Victoria's Secret Bombshell proved to be a stand-out winner. Avon Skin So Soft Bath Oil was also found to repel mozzies — but only for a two hour period. However, the VS fragrance kept mosquitos at bay for even longer.

Researcher Stacy Rodriguez from New Mexico State University explained the results in a statement. "There was some previous literature that said fruity, floral scents attracted mosquitoes, and to not wear those," she said. "It was interesting to see that the mosquitoes weren't actually attracted to the person that was wearing the Victoria's Secret perfume — they were repelled by it."
