The wrestler-turned-actor has been out-earned by the 46-year-old Daddy’s Home star who pocketed more than $68 Million in the past 12 months, according to Forbes.
But we doubt that Johnson will be getting his dick-stickers in a twist over his number two spot though; his recent film Baywatch and regular spot on HBO's Ballers (a show Mark Wahlberg also executive produces) helped to add to his $65 million dollar pay day.
Rounding out the top five is The Rock’s The Fate of the Furious co-star Vin Diesel (No. 3; $54.5 million), Adam Sandler (No. 4; $50.5 million) and Jackie Chan (No. 5; $49 million).
Also worth a mention was Australia’s own Chris Hemsworth who picked up number 11 on the list at $31.5 million - largely thanks to his Marvel character, Thor.
Earlier this month Forbes reported that Oscar-winner Emma Stone was highest paid female actor of the past 12 months earning $26 million. The La La Land star was followed by Jennifer Aniston (No. 2; $25.5 million) and Jennifer Lawrence (No. 3 at $24 million).
Forbes notes that the male actor list is further evidence of Hollywood’s infamous pay-gap issues:
“Hollywood's highest-paid actors continue to out-earn their female counterparts: The top 10 actors banked a cumulative $488.5 million--nearly three times the $172.5 million combined total of the 10 top-earning women. While only three actresses made more than $20 million in 12 months, 16 actors broached the mark.”
Soooo, it's 2017 and the fact this pay-gap is still happening is total bullshit.
