Anna Faris says she and Chris Pratt 'try to communicate openly'

Also, they still have "a lot of love and friendship."

Back in August, Anna Faris and Chris Pratt announced they were splitting up after eight years of marriage. The news absolutely crushed their fans, and left the Internet as a whole pretty certain that love was dead.

But Faris says that love certainly isn't dead—and it's not like she and Pratt have iced each other out or anything. In an interview in the latest issue of Women's Health, Faris said that she and Pratt still keep lines of communication open, and that's because their son, Jack, is their highest priority.

Recently, Jack recently (adorably) starred in Faris' charity campaign to raise money for The Global Alliance to Prevent Prematurity and Stillbirth.

"What Chris and I try to do is to communicate openly. We reiterate that there aren't rules to this," she said. "We have a lot of love and friendship, and our big goal is to protect Jack. I cherish my family, my close friends, my child—that makes the rest of it worth it."

But her split isn't getting her down on the idea of a relationship; she's dating cinematographer Michael Barrett. "I love love! Like all of us, I need a sense of human connection and intimacy," she told the magazine. "At the end of a workday I feel exposed and kind of raw. I want to be with someone I can confess to, and who can confess to me."
