It’s just been confirmed that Beyoncé has dropped out of Coachella. Bey was due to headline the popular music festival, which plays over two weekends in April in Indio, California, but given she’s now pregnant with twins, well, she’s had to change her priorities.

The organisers of Coachella posted the news on Facebook, writing, “Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyoncé has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. However, Goldenvoice and Parkwood are pleased to confirm that she will be a headliner at the 2018 festival. Thank you for your understanding. Stay tuned for more information.”

So that means they’ve managed to lock her in for next year’s festival.

When Beyoncé announced she was pregnant earlier this month, with one of the most epic Instagram announcements of all time, it was initially reported that she would still see out her Coachella commitment.

After all, she slayed her Grammys performance last week, and even had a gravity-defying chair moment that had everyone else holding their breaths, but as Coachella is still two months away, there are more risks for someone who’s pregnant with two babies.

It’s not all sad news, though! As the organisers said, Bey will be back in 2018, and there are other awesome headliners, like Kendrick Lamar and Radiohead. Even movie music legend Hans Zimmer is playing at Coachella…

Just gives us a reason to book tickets next year.
