Beyoncé’s first BF cheated on her?!

Yes, even Queen Bey has had to deal with a D-bag boyfriend…

She’s the woman who once said: “Equality is a myth, and for some reason everyone accepts the fact that women don't make as much money as men do. Power's not given to you. You have to take it." Yep, Beyoncé is fiercely independent and is a huge campaigner for women worldwide. And now that her ex-boyfriend has come out saying that he,gasp, cheated on her, we can’t help but wonder if his low antics set her on her girl power mission.

Lyndall Locke is the cheater in question. The man who, every day of his life, probably kicks himself for betraying one of the world’s richest (she earned $53 million in the last year alone!) and most incredible women. We have two words for your, Lynds: Sucked. In.

We know – it’s hard to imagine Bey with anyone other than music magnate Jay-Z, who she married in 2008, but back in 1993, 13-year-old little Bey reportedly met Lyndall at youth church. Apparently the pair were high school sweethearts, going to prom together in 1997 and sharing their first kiss at a Brian McKnight concert – naw!

But as Bey’s star started to rise when she joined the beloved girl group Destiny’s Child, Lyndall reckons he started to get pretty insecure in the relationship. “The bigger star she became, the more I didn’t think I was good enough. One night, when she was out of town, I went to a bar with friends and ended up sleeping with another woman. Over the course of a few years I cheated on her about five times, but I never told her until after we broke up,” he told The Sun.

Five times. FIVE times. There isn’t any amount of expletives in the world that describe how we feel about this guy. And we’re not sure what’s worse, the amount of times he screwed Bey over, or the fact that he’s still trying to blame his cheating ways on his own insecurities! That’s called a cop out, buddy.

And get this, apparently Bey wanted to remain a virgin until she got married and Lyndall reckons he “respected” her choice. Sure, if by “respected” he means “sleep with other women”. But the real clincher is, he also thinks that she’d still be his if he didn’t cheat on her!

Either way, it looks like Lyndall’s story isn’t something he just made up. In 2008 Beyoncé told the The Telegraph: "When I was 12, 13, I had my first boyfriend, and he was my boyfriend till I was 17. At that age, that was a long time. I've always been very loyal and a little more mature. Though I was too young for it to really be a boyfriend - we didn't live together, we didn't, you know… That was my only experience with a guy, and since then I've only had one other boyfriend in my life - Jay."

And boy did Bey get her relationship karma back when she hooked up with legendary Jay-Z! So has her less-than-perfect first love experience affected her? Hell no; Bey is as confident as ever: “I now know that, yes, I am powerful. I'm more powerful than my mind can even digest and understand,” she told GQ. And we second that.

When asked about her relationship with Jay-Z by Oprah, Beyoncé said: "I would not be the woman I am if I did not go home to that man. We were friends first, for a year and a half, before we went on any date. On the phone, for a year and a half. And that foundation is so important in a relationship. Just to have someone that you just like is so important, and someone that is honest."

The lesson learnt here? There will always be scummy guys out there who cheat, don’t let it get you down too much, just go out there and do your thing; Beyoncé-style.
