Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie make joint statement about their divorce

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce has been headed down an ugly path for the last few months, but it seems both parties might have finally reached a better place.

On Tuesday, the ex-couple released a joint statement for the first time since announcing their split back in September, and it’s about the one thing it seems they still have in common: the wellbeing of their kids.

In the statement published by People, Brad and Ang said that from now on their divorce proceedings will be handled by a private judge to prevent any sensitive information about their six children becoming public – something Brad expressed his concern about in court documents several weeks ago.

“The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues,” the statement said.

“The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification.”

At the moment, Ang has temporary full physical custody of the kids, but Brad is pushing to have joint-custody when a permanent agreement is reached. Given the new vow by the ex-couple to keep the matter private, we might not know the outcome for some time, if ever. And really, it’s not our business anyway.
