Watch: Brie Larson flat-out refused to applaud Casey Affleck’s Oscar win

And we can totally understand why.

Brie Larson

If you thought Brie Larson awarding Casey Affleck with the Best Actor award at the Golden Globes last month was awkward as all fuck, wait until you see her having to do it for the second time at the Oscars last night.

ICYMI, Brie Larson is a well-known advocate for sexual assault survivors and, following Lady Gaga’s performance of ‘Til It Happens To You’ (a song about sexual assault) at the Oscars, where the performer was then joined by on stage by other survivors, Brie made a point of hugging every single one of them.

Casey Affleck, on the other hand, received multiple sexual assault allegations back in 2010 by two female co-workers in the film I’m Still Here.

So when Brie Larson was tasked with announcing his Oscars win, you can imagine how f*cked up the whole thing was.

This is her response when she read the envelope (probs praying for another La La Land/Moonlight type error):

In true Brie style, she managed to keep it profesh, but even she refused to clap Affleck.

Twitter, however, completely lost it, citing the whole damn thing as BEYOND ridic:

Others grabbing some well-timed screenshots, indicating the internet's reaction to Affleck was echoed by celebs at the awards:

If you ask us, this Oscars fuck up gives the whole La La Land/Moonlight thing a run for its money.

Go home Oscars, you're drunk.
