Eva Mendes responds to Ryan Gosling's epic tribute to her at the Golden Globes

Subtle and sweet.

In his acceptance speech for Best Actor in a Musical at the Golden Globes, Ryan Gosling said he was grateful to so many people but wanted “to try to thank one person properly”, going on to pay tribute to Eva Mendes who looked after their children and assisted her terminally ill brother while Ryan was on the La La Land set.

If you got teary-eyed and wobbly-chinned watching it, you weren’t alone. And now Eva Mendes has publicly thanked Ryan for the speech, albeit in a subtle way.

Eva posted a photo of her favourite Golden Globes red carpet look on Instagram on Tuesday – Janelle Monae looking fi-yah – and wrote in the caption:

“Obviously this wasn't my favorite moment of the night....But it was definitely my favorite style moment of the night.”

Ryan and Eva, who are parents to daughters Esmerelda and Amada, are one of Hollywood’s most private couples, so this is probably the closest we’re going to get to a public comment. Soak it up, y’all.
