Even Dan Humphrey thinks the Gossip Girl finale made ZERO sense

We feel you, Penn Badgley.

Dan Gossip Girl

Penn Badgley, better known to Upper East Siders as Lonely Boy or Dan Humphrey, has gone on record saying he thinks the Gossip Girl finale made absolutely no sense.

For those of you who aren’t up to date, there’s obviously a major ~SpOiLeR~ alert here.

The show ended with the reveal that Lonely Boy had been the mysterious Gossip Girl blogger all along. Now, this is problematic for a number of reasons. For starters, who the hell terrorises their little sister like that? Or writes evil shit about themselves to "avoid suspicion"? Also, Dan just can’t be the villain. We were all rooting for him. We love Dan. Viva la Dan. Lonely Boy 4 life etc. etc.

Spotted: Cosmo staffers still have a lot of feelings about how the show ended.

Anyway, at an event in New York on Wednesday, People asked Penn to please explain how any of it adds up. "It doesn't make sense at all," he replied. "It wouldn't have made sense for anybody. Gossip Girl doesn't make sense!"

Just to recap, here are just a few of the plot holes we’d like to point out. For starters, how does Gossip Girl send around pics of Dan SLEEPING and doing other mundane activities if he was Gossip Girl all along? Did he have an accomplice? Was Dan Humphrey the first person in mainstream media to use a selfie stick? Or hire a personal paparazzi? And why the hell did Serena agree to forgive and marry him after all that? "What he did was write a love letter," she says. No, Serena, what he did was tell the world you had an STD.

Penn then backtracked on his comments and noted that Dan as Gossip Girl made "enough sense" because Dan was a writer. Well technically WE are writers, Penn. Does that mean we could be Gossip Girl, too? By Lonely Boy’s logic, yes. Yes it does.

So on that note, this is us, signing off. XOXO.
