Gal Gadot might play a woman of super human strength in Wonder Woman but off-screen she’s very much a real-life crusader who’s willing to power through anything to get the job done; even pregnancy.
The Israeli actress has revealed she did some of the reshoots for the newest DC Comics blockbuster while five months into her second pregnancy with her daughter Maya (who was born March this year).
According to Entertainment Weekly, Gadot was showing so much when she returned to set that the costume department had to place some green cloth on the front of her costume so it could be hit with some CGI magic in postproduction.
"On close-up I looked very much like Wonder Woman," the 31-year-old actress said. "On wide shots, I looked very funny, like Wonder Woman pregnant with Kermit the Frog."
Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins told EW that Gadot's commitment was inspiring. "There are so many things we asked her to do: Now do it on one foot. Now shout while you're doing it. Now it's raining in the freezing cold and you've lost your voice, go. Everyday was a hilarious gauntlet and she would do it," Jenkins said.
Wonder Woman has had a strong debut and broken the record for the most successful opening weekend for a movie directed by a woman. Director Patty Jenkins has taken that title from Sam Taylor-Johnson who directed 2015’s Fifty Shades of Grey.
