Gigi Hadid's first Instagram post since Zayn Malik breakup reveals who she's currently pining for

And it's not Zayn...

As you would know by now, Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik devastated fans when they announced they'd broken up last week after two years of dating.

The split was a something no one saw coming — after all, Zayn just got Gigi's eye tattooed on his chest and Gigi's mum Yolanda was dropping hints that an engagement was imminent.

But alas, the young power couple each made social media posts on Mach 13 regarding their amicable split; both basically saying they were happy to part ways and promising to stay close.

Despite the well-crafted statements, Gigi is behaving like anyone would post-breakup and taking time off the Instagram grid for the past seven days... until now.

The Tommy Hilfiger muse made an emotional return to the 'gram on Tuesday (March 20) when she posted a throwback shot of herself with her younger sister Bella, captioning the pic: "Miss you sister".

Clearly the 22-year-old's new single status has her yearning for her family in her time of heartache and, can we blame her?

The sisters, who are only a little over a year apart, have seemingly always shared a close bond.

The last time Bella featured on Gigi's feed it was in an adorable post for her 21st birthday in October where the supermodel paid tribute to her younger sis writing, "There are no words for how much I love you. You know I've been trying to protect u from the world since day one..."

It seems now though Bella is the one stepping up and doing the protecting. Following Zayn's exit as a potential bro-in-law Bella has unfollowed him from the gram (FYI: Zayn has unfollowed Gigi, Bella and Yolanda while, at the time of publishing this, Gigi still follows Zayn) and posted a picture which some fans think mocked his lyrics.

On March 13 the Dior model posted a pic with the caption, "I'll be Right here", which some took as a dig at Zayn because the wording is somewhat a reference to his Dusk Till Dawn lyric, "Baby I'm right here/I'll hold you when things go wrong". TBH, that's a stretch, but okay, sure.

Obviously Yolanda taught her girls blood is thicker than water.
