Harry Styles' stepfather Robin Twist has died after 'long cancer battle'. He was 57.

The family has released a statement saying: "Harry's stepfather, Robin Twist, sadly passed away this week after a long battle with cancer. The family asks for privacy at this time."

Robin and Harry’s mother Anne had been married for four years and Harry even walked his mum down the aisle at their 2013 wedding.

Robin - who had two other children from a previous marriage - had a hand in raising Harry and his sister Gemma since getting together with their mum.

Some of Harry’s One Direction bandmate’s have publicly reached out to their pal to lend support during this tough time.

Liam Payne took to Instagram to remember Robin and wrote:

"What a kind, gentle and beautiful soul, a true rarity to find in today's world. Sometimes they really do take the best of us far too soon."

Niall Horan wrote, "Those who had the pleasure of knowing Robin will know that he was the nicest, kindest, most generous, hilariously funny guy you'll have met.”

Louis Tomlinson, who lost his own mother, Johanna Deakin to an aggressive leukemia in December, wrote on Twitter:

"He was such a lovely kind and funny guy.”
