The Oscars, for the most part, are a pretty ~serious~ affair. Sure, a few jokes are cracked throughout the ceremony, but in general it's not a comedy show, since most of the nominees are being honoured for dramatic projects, and it's Hollywood's most prestigious event.
Despite this, there are some randomly funny things that happen. This year, Jennifer Garner became the unexpected meme of the show when she was caught on camera having some kind of epiphany moment.
As writer Bobby Finger put it best, "What realization did Jennifer Garner just come to?"
Well, the internet, as always, had plenty of ideas for the potential realisations Jennifer could have had mid-applause during the Oscars.
Such as these:
Jennifer, who presented the In Memoriam segment — and was praised for looking so damn good post-divorce from Ben Affleck — hasn't addressed what had her so shook during the show, but we're hoping that she'll follow in Nicole Kidman's footsteps with an explanation.
In case you forgot, Nicole Kidman became the viral meme of the Oscars last year for her weird AF clapping technique.
She later explained in interviews that she was clapping that way because of the huge rings she was wearing. "I'm so glad you clarified that, because it was really awkward!" she said on the Kyle and Jackie O Show. "I was like, 'Gosh, I wanna clap, I don't want to not be clapping,' which would be worse, right? 'Why isn't Nicole clapping?' So therefore I'm clapping, but it was really difficult 'cos I had a huge ring on that was not my own, and it was absolutely gorgeous, and I was terrified of damaging it."
Over to you, Jen.
