This interview predicted Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber would get married TWO YEARS ago

We should’ve seen it coming ages ago.

Before we get to the prophetic interview that predicted Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin's inevitable engagement, we'll need you to case your minds back to Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez' on-again, off-again relationship. The years 2014 – 2016 were a heartbreaking period which spawned forlorn ballads like Sorry by Biebs and The Heart Wants What It Wants from Selena.

During that time, Biebs was still talking about his first love in interviews and how he grew as a person with no regrets blah blah blah.

"Everyone, when they start growing up, realises, 'Man, I did some dumb shit when I was younger.' It's not just me," he told GQ in 2016. "If I could go back, I wouldn't really change much. I think it's all my journey. That stuff made me who I am."

But he was also experiencing a burgeoning romance with Hailey Baldwin at the time and Biebs described her as, "someone I really love. We spend a lot of time together".

Later, Hailey told Marie Claire they were never actually official.

"We are not an exclusive couple. He's about to go on tour," she said. "Relationships at this age are already complicated, but I don't really like to talk about it because it's between me and him."

But during his GQ interview, Biebs sure sounded like he had a thing for the model. He espoused how desperate he was to not hurt her like he's hurt people in the past (AKA Selena).

"I don't want to put anyone in a position where they feel like I'm only theirs, only to be hurt in the end," he told the publication. "Right now in my life, I don't want to be held down by anything. I already have a lot that I have to commit to. A lot of responsibilities."

"I don't want to feel like the girl I love is an added responsibility. I know that in the past I've hurt people and said things that I didn't mean to make them happy in the moment. So now I'm just more so looking at the future, making sure I'm not damaging them.

"What if Hailey ends up being the girl I'm gonna marry, right? If I rush into anything, if I damage her, then it's always gonna be damaged. It's really hard to fix wounds like that. It's so hard.… I just don't want to hurt her."

However, around the same time — in early 2016 — he posted a throwback picture kissing Selena kissing, and Hailey commented "perfect".

She mustn't have been that fazed by his return to Selena — the pair only rekindled their romance in June which makes for an Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson-esque timeline.

So there you have it folks, it's been written in the stars for years.
