Did Justin Bieber just shade Shawn Mendes in his new song ‘No Brainer’?

Definitely sounds like it tbh.

Fact: there's nothing the internet loves more than a little shade-throwing. And it seems Justin Bieber's new song, 'No Brainer' is just the latest chapter in the shade-filled rumour mill. Fans have taken to Twitter to debrief over the singer's lyrics, and whether they're a low-key reference to Shawn Mendes.

For context, prior to Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin's engagement earlier this month, Hailey was last connected to Shawn. The duo first sparked dating rumours when they attended the Met Gala together back in May. While the pair have since denied any romantic relationship, claiming they're 'just friends', public statements never seem to get in the way of some good celebrity drama.

As a newly-engaged dude, it's not a total stretch to think that Bieber's new lyrics about his 'baby' are a thinly veiled reference to Hailey.

The song starts with, "You stick out of the crowd, baby, it's a no-brainer/ It ain't that hard to choose," which definitely sounds like he's talking about how drop dead GORGE Hailey is.

But then Justin also makes reference to another guy, singing, "Him or me, be for real, baby, it's a no-brainer."

Hmmmmmmm, what does this mean?

Explanation one, is that Justin's saying both guys think she's a total 10 and that they'd would be stoked to go out with her. But JB's now engaged to Hails, so this would seem a little random, right?

The second theory, however, is that by saying 'him or me, baby, it's a no brainer', Justin's saying there's clearly a right choice between him and whoever the other guy is and that picking JB is a 'no brainer'.

Twitter was quick to suggest it was the second:

What do you think? Is this the internet making a mountain out of a mole hill, or a real bit of dramz?
