Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez dated on-and-off for about five years until they split for good in 2015, so when photos of Selena kissing The Weeknd surfaced recently it was always going to be a bit awkward for Justin.

Justin has officially confirmed the awkwardness on his part today, by telling TMZ that he can’t stand The Weeknd’s music because it’s “whack”.

"Hell no, I can't listen to a Weeknd song," Justin told a TMZ cameraman as he left a Los Angeles restaurant on Saturday. "That sh*t's whack."

Yep, it looks like Justin is feeling just a little sensitive about his long-time girlfriend moving on with someone new. So far Selena nor The Weeknd have given any kind of response, but there’s no doubt a shot has officially been fired.

Selena and The Weeknd’s romance has already caused plenty of drama, and they’re only a few weeks in. The Weeknd’s very recent ex Bella Hadid is said to be shocked he’d moved on so soon, and she let the world know how she feels about it by flipping off paparazzi and posting it to her Instagram account.

If you’re secretly loving all this drama, we have good news for you: it looks like some of the players in this IRL soap opera could come face-to-face at the Grammys next month. Justin is nominated in some of the major categories, including Album Of The Year for Purpose and Song Of The Year for “Love Yourself”. While The Weeknd isn’t nominated, he’s been announced as one of the live performances.

If he and Selena go together, it could make for one awkward, drama-filled evening.

Make sure you’ve got your popcorn ready.
