Khloé Kardashian was in the middle of an interview with People magazine to promote her book 'Strong Looks Better Naked' when news broke of Lamar Odom’s drug overdose.
People mag have now run the interview and Khlo faced a hefty backlash on Twitter due to the seemingly insensitive timing of the interview.
She’s now explained the photo shoot and most of the interview took place before Lamar's collapse, but she was made to do a five minute 'follow up' call afterwards as a contractual obligation.
And during the five minute ‘follow up’, she’s clarified a few things, namely why she’s put a hold on divorce proceedings. It’s NOT because they’re back together.
“I pulled back on the divorce because there is no rush for it. For medical decisions and a ton of other things, it’s just smarter that it’s put on hold.”
Speaking about the improvements in Lamar's condition, Khloé said "the fact that he woke up was definitely a sigh of relief for everybody." "It goes up and it goes down but he's awake," she continued, "[and] that's all I wanted, was for him to be okay."
"I believe when you love someone, you are allowed to love from afar. You don't have to be with that person in order to love him," she explained, clarifying that she doesn't consider herself to be back with Lamar in a relationship. But she also said: “I can’t tell you what tomorrow brings.”
And what about James Harden, the basketball star she reportedly called things off with in the wake of Lamar's overdose? “He's been great with me,” she explained. “I'm just allowing everything to unfold”
Poor Khloé has the weight of the world on her shoulders right now...
