“Don’t be mean to Kanye,” says Kim (kind of…)

Kim’s got your back over this whole wheelchair thing, Ye.

If you haven’t heard about Kanye and Wheelchairgate yet, well, where have ya been? Ok, we’ll fill you in…

So, appazza Kanye had a bit of a hissy fit during his show in Sydney on 12 September. We know what you’re thinking, Kanye? Have a hissy fit? Surely not!

But anyways, supposedly Mr West demanded everyone rise to their feet, saying he wouldn’t perform unless they stood up. "I can't do this show until everybody stand up. Unless you got a handicap pass and you get special parking and sht," he told the crowd. Then, he became annoyed when he saw a lone fan sitting down. "Now, if he is in a wheelchair, it’s fine. Is he in a wheelchair right there?” The crowd screamed in the affirmative, and West had a bodyguard investigate that the concert-goer was actually wheelchair-bound, before he launched into Good Life*.

Obviously the whole incident is hugely disrespectful and embarrassing to the fan in the wheelchair, but it certainly raised a few chortles about Kanye’s God complex.

Now, right on cue, Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian West has jumped to his defence saying the whole thing was completely taken out of context.

“What an amazing Australian tour! Its frustrating that something so awesome could be clouded by lies in the media," she posted on Instagram alongside a video of her hubby on stage.

"Kanye never asked anyone in a wheel chair to stand up & the audience videos show that. He asked for everyone to stand up & dance UNLESS they were in a wheel chair. #JustWantedEveryoneToHaveAFunNight #TheMediaTwistsThings"
