Definitely I have learned from it.

Last week Kim Kardashian dropped the first promo image for her new KKW Beauty line on Instagram and Twitter. But amidst the excitement of Kim’s contour and highlight kit, fans noticed Kim looked a helluva lot more bronzed than normal and accused the star of effectively ‘wearing blackface’ in the campaign pic, and they called her out for it.

One week later and Kim has finally responded to the claims and explains how the pictures ended up going live.

“I would obviously never want to offend anyone,” Kim told The New York Times.

“I used an amazing photographer and a team of people. I was really tan when we shot the images, and it might be that the contrast was off,” she says.

“But I showed the image to many people, to many in the business. No one brought that to our attention. No one mentioned it.”

But rather than shift the blame, Kim went on to accept responsibility for any harm caused by the pics.

“Of course, I have the utmost respect for why people might feel the way they did. But we made the necessary changes to that photo and the rest of the photos. We saw the problem, and we adapted and changed right away,” she added. “Definitely I have learned from it.”
