It’s been months since Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney called off their engagement after five long years together and, aside from a hella emosh Instagram post back in July, Gaga’s kept the whole break up on the DL. That is, until now.
In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning the Kween of Poker Face opens up for the first time about why her and Taylor called it quits.
Warning: Your heart might break a little reading this.
“I think women love very hard,” Gaga said. “We love men. We just love with everything we have. And sometimes I don't know that that love is met with the type of dignity that we wish it would be met with,” she explains.
“You know, we're not trying to make you less of a man. We just want you to love us as deeply and as wholesomely and as fully as we love you.”
Gaga went on to discuss the struggles of living in the spotlight, saying how she has had to surrender her privacy and freedom.
“I'm very acutely aware that once I cross that property line I'm not free anymore,” she said.
“As soon as I go out in the world I belong in a way to everyone else. It's legal to follow me. It's legal to stalk me at the beach. I can't call the police or ask them to leave and I took a long hard look at that property line and I said 'Well you know if I can't be free out there I'm going to be free in here,'” she continued before pointing to her heart.
If that doesn’t pull at your heartstrings (you might want to check you still have a heart). Then she closed with this and we are ruined.
"I miss people. I'm sorry," she said, wiping her tears. "I miss people. Yeah, I miss people. I miss going anywhere and meeting a random person and saying hi and having a conversation about life. I love people.”
And now we feel dead inside and need some quality hug time.
2016, can you just stop already?
