We wish we were Mars RN.

Guys, we don’t mean to alarm you but come 2025, we might lose Leonardo DiCaprio to Mars.

We know, we know, it would be an absolute travesty and we assure you that here at Cosmopolitan.com.au, we’re working on a plan to trap him on planet Earth.

How do we know about Leo’s space ambitions?

Well, during a discussion about his new documentary Before the Flood, climate scientist Katharine Hayhoe joked that while climate change is happening, we shouldn’t get too overwhelmed and you know, leave the planet. “As long as we haven’t signed up for the trip to Mars,” Hayhoe said. “I don’t want to know if anybody has, I think you’re crazy.”

Leo quietly replied, “I did.”

According to Business Insider, Leo is probably referring to the Mars expedition planned by Elon Musk, which is scheduled to leave as soon as 2025.

However, it seems that Leo might have just been punking us all. Sources close to Business Insider AND Cosmo US both reckon that he was joking.

Nice gag Leo but you shouldn’t joke about that kind of thing. Also, could you please return my calls?
