Margot Robbie's new gig is not what we expected

She's got the need… for speed?

Margot Robbie has a fancy new role, but we gotta say, we didn’t see this one coming.

The actress shared a video on Instagram overnight that revealed she’s the new (and first) ambassador for Nissan Electric – yep, the girl’s mad about cars.

In the clip, Margot drives around Monaco’s Circuit de Monaco (the famous Grand Prix race track) in a Nissan BladeGlider, which is an electric car that can go from 0 to 100km/h in less than five seconds.

She proves she’s a bit of a rebel by disobeying the voice that’s talking to her. Tbh she just drives around and looks really good doing it, because she’s Margot Robbie.

“It’s a really exciting time for electric vehicles,” she said in a press release. “More people are choosing to go electric, leading the way to a more sustainable future and the Nissan BladeGlider hints at the future of smarter performance cars.”

This isn’t Margot’s first lucrative sponsorship deal as she’s also the face of Calvin Klein’s Deep Euphoria fragrance.

It’s almost weirdly refreshing to see Margot as her normal self. In most of the pictures we’ve seen of her lately she’s been almost unrecognisable, getting into character as infamous ice skater Tonya Harding in the upcoming biopic I, Tonya.

That said, Margot’s admitted to being a bit of a tomboy, so her love of cars shouldn’t be that much of a surprise. And her new husband, Tom Ackerley, might also be a rev head.

Here’s the full short film.
