An unearthed letter proves Meghan Markle was always destined to be a princess

What an authentic lass!

We know Meghan Markle has undergone some pretty intense princess lessons since donning the tiara, but they certainly haven't had to teach the Duchess how to be kind. It's a well-known fact Megs was a philanthropist, donating time and money to important issues, long before she was a royal, but the discovery of a letter she wrote a "shy and lonely" classmate in '93 proves her helping hand is genuine.

In a new doco, How to Bag a Prince — because of course it's called that — her former headmistress, Christine Knudsen, said she was sent a letter by one of the girls that was in Meghan's friendship group that the Duchess had written way back when.

"Meghan wrote her the most wonderful loving note," says Ms Knudsen.

"Even though Meghan was not her close friend at all. It just shows the depth of [Meghan's] heart."

Written in handwriting so nice she must have known what her future held, the letter reads: "Dear Michelle, You are so strong and so wonderful — your courage in strength in times of hardships is as admirable as your optimism and friendly nature."

"I am so lucky to have you in my group and to be able to lead you on this adventure. Never stop sharing your beautiful spirit and always remember how special you are. I am here if you ever need me. I love you, Meghan."

Given we're normally reading about how relentless, vitriolic hate speech online has led to suicides amongst teenagers, this revelation is such a heart-warming change and proves Megs is more than worthy of her newfound role.

The show also had Meghan's religious studies teacher, Maria Pollia, reveal she was always one to help.

"One day, after class, Meghan approached me and said, 'So tell me more about serving on Skid Row'," Ms Pollia said.

"And so I suggested she continued to volunteer at this soup kitchen in her senior year. Meghan always took it a step further, not just distributing food but learning people's names, learning their stories."

A princess since the very beginning.
