Mel C says it's been pretty awkward since she refused to do the Spice Girls reunion

She also revealed she battled depression and eating disorders when the band was at its peak.

Mel C, AKA Sporty Spice has done an in-depth interview following her refusal to do the Spice Girls reunion tour, and it’s a lot to take in. Here’s what you need to know.

It’s been pretty awkward among the (former) band members since she gave a big fat NO regarding the reunion.

“It’s a bit awkward at the moment to be honest. It’s going to be, isn’t it? But I do know we’ll get past it. We’ve all been through so much together, and we’re these five girls who did this incredible thing and that will unite us forever.”

She turned down a figure of at least two million pounds (about AUD $3.5 million) to do the reunion tour. Why? She was actually unhappy for a lot of the time the Spice Girls were together, suffering depression and eating disorders. She's happier now.

“When the Spice Girls were at their biggest, I couldn’t even really look at myself in the mirror because I didn’t like what I saw. Depression, eating disorders, obsessive over-exercising; I went through all of it.”

This is shattering all of our childhood memories of how happy the Spice Girls seemed. Noooooooooooooo. But really, it’s sad to hear Mel C wasn’t as happy as she seemed.

She thought long and hard about whether to do the reunion.

“It was a really difficult decision. I didn’t take it lightly. I did go quite far down the route with the girls. I went to a lot of meetings but I just did
