Another day, another drama in the never-ending saga that is Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s breakup. Firstly, Liam was spotted getting cosy (and then kissing) Mexican actress Eiza Gonzalez a couple of weeks ago. Then Miley was thought to have moved on with her producer Mike WiLL Made It.
But before you start calling her Miley WiLL Made It (ha!) it seems the pop singer has cold feet and is keeping quiet on whether anything is going on with, er, Mike – we wonder if he lets anyone call him plain old Mike?!
While the celebrity rumour mill has churned out some pretty nonsensical stuff in the past, we’re pretty sure we weren’t just imagining that there was something between Mike (who wrote Miley’s hit song 'We Can’t Stop') and the star.
Recently Miley has been posting cosy shots of herself in the producer’s arms on Instagram and was seen embracing him at the iHeartRadio music festival last weekend. And we all know that if a couple is willing to capture their PDAs on insta, then they must be together.
Or are they?! A representative for Mike has come out saying that there is absolutely nothing going on between the pair. “They have been spending a lot of time together because they are working so closely together on [Miley's] album,” they told E! News. “[They work] closely professionally and it is all about the music.” Ok, now we’re officially confused.
All about the music? Hmmm, we smell a rat. Especially since last Tuesday, Miley was reportedly spotted ducking into a car with Mike trying not be seen (c’mon – since when does Miley ever not want to be seen?!). A source said: “They were obviously on a date.''
While we’re not sure what to believe right now, we’d be pretty happy if this Mike and Miley romance was nothing but a rumour. Coming out of a three year relationship and going straight into another one? It was always destined for disaster, and we have one word for M-squared: rebound!
We reckon Miley needs a bit of single time to sort out her life, especially since she cryptically revealed in an interview with Canada’s Fashion magazine that she was considering ditching Liam back in February when writing her song ‘Drive’.
“I wrote it while I was working on Valentine's Day - emotionally it was such a hard time.” She also revealed that the song is “about needing to leave someone but not really wanting to completely cut yourself off from the relationship. It's a time when you want to leave but you can't. It's also about moving on.”
Oh, and Miley? Here’s some advice on being single again – we strongly advise you to take it.
