J.K. Rowling burns royal commentator who labeled Meghan Markle "unsuitable" for Harry

As she adjusts to the fact that her life will never be the same again, Prince Harry's new fiancΓ©e Meghan Markle can take comfort in knowing that she will have J.K. Rowling as one of her fiercest protectors.

The Harry Potter author's unofficial self-appointment as Meghan's defender came this week when Rowling took issue with an article ran in The Spectator by contributor Melanie McDonagh.

Basically McDonagh used the online piece to say that the Suits actress was "unsuitable as Prince Harry's wife" because she has been married and divorced before.

"Obviously, seventy years ago, Meghan Markle would have been the kind of woman the Prince would have had for a mistress, not a wife," McDonagh wrote.

Well, because it's 2017, people were not here for the royal commentator's old-fashioned and snide divorcee dig...

Rowling, a divorcee herself, joined in on the drag and eviscerated McDonagh with a single hashtag ('scuse the pun):

And, while we're here, there should also be a notable shout out for this guy, who highlighted an often overlooked side of this partnership:

For the record we're v-happy with this match πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜
