Christmas is supposed to be a happy time for families but for Rihanna and those closest to her the holidays have taken a heartbreaking turn.
Two days after spending Christmas in her native Barbados with her fam Rihanna has taken to Instagram for an emotional post mourning the loss of her cousin, who was reportedly gunned down hours after the two were together for Christmas Day.
"Can't believe it was just last night that I held you in my arms!" the 29-year-old wrote. "Never thought that would be the last time I felt the warmth in your body!!!"
Rih-Rih didn't name her cousin but according to Barbadian newspaper, Nation News the slain man was identified as 21-year-old Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne. Alleyne was reportedly shot multiple times on Tuesday night while walking near his house in St. Michael, Barbados.
While the police are reportedly searching the island for the shooter the singer, who has a gun tattooed on her rib cage, has used her platform to call for an end to gun violence and encouraged her 59 million followers to "be grateful for life".
