Rihanna dragging Diplo for his “airport” music is the funniest thing to ever happen

Didn’t they tell you I was a savage?

Have you ever wondered why Rihanna, who has collaborated with the likes of Calvin Harris and DJ Khaled, and Diplo, who has produced songs with Kendrick Lamar, Justin Bieber and Sia, have never worked together? The two seem like a likely match and are both experts at pumping out club-worthy bangers.

Well, according to the DJ and producer himself, it's because Riri never quite feels the vibe.

"I just want her on a Major Lazer song. She's like the one artist that we can't ever get," Diplo told GQ Style.

He went on to say that he's attempted a collab many times, but has always been shut down by the Bad Gal.

"I played her 'Lean On'. She was like, 'I don't do house music'. I face-palmed so hard on that one," he said. "Another time I had a session with her, and Future was also invited. The Weeknd was there. Metro Boomin was there before anybody knew who he was. I was so contact high."

"Future played her, like, 700 songs. It was four in the morning. Finally, I was like, 'Yo, G, I'm leaving unless you let me play her a song'.

"So I played her a song. And she was like, "This sounds like a reggae song at an airport". [laughs] I was like, I'm gonna go kill myself."

But being rejected so often (and so savagely) hasn't deterred Diplo, who is still convinced he can get a track out of Ms Fenty.

"I think before we're all done, she'll be on a song of ours," he told GQ. "Hopefully. But if not, I don't really care."

As for how Rihanna feels about it? She's a little more in the #SorryNotSorry camp.

Damn. Add that on top of Katy Perry ranking him very last on her sex list and you've got a couple of consecutive burns that'll take more than aloe to heal.

Poor Diplo, can't catch a break.
