We have a theory about how the Lost City of Z cast was chosen. It includes a bunch of Hollywood producers sitting around, scouring the interwebs for the three hottest humans on the planet. The result? Charlie Hunnam, Robert Pattinson and Sienna Miller chosen as leads. Done deal.
The film is an adaptation of David Grann’s best-selling book The Lost City of Z: A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon. It tells the story of Percy Fawcett, a British colonial who disappeared in the 1920s while searching for a mythical city in the Amazon jungles of Brazil, that he believed he discovered on a previous expedition.
And just in case there weren’t enough good-looking people on set, Brad Pitt is one of the producers along with Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner. Production is set to begin around June this year.
Until then Charlie is keeping himself busy with a slew of projects (which means we’re going to see him everywhere – score!) He’s currently in production on the Warner Bros. epic Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur directed by Guy Ritchie, in which he’s the lead. He’ll also be in Guillermo Del Toro’s Crimson Peak and the sequel to Legendary’s Pacific Rim.
No wonder he had no time for Fifty Shades of Grey!
