We finally know why Justin Bieber was crying, and WOW we're impressed

He’s strangely profound.

Just a quick update, Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin got engaged exactly a month ago — shocking the world and Selena Gomez all at once — and while they've been hella mushy on Instagram about how in love they are, pics surfaced this week of the couple aggressively sobbing together in a park.

The pictures left fans rather concerned for the couple, and theories started to spread that it was over for Hailey and Justin before it had really ever begun.

Luckily for us, some TMZ paps seemed equally perplexed by this whole sobbing situation and so they asked Biebs straight-up when they saw him next. Which was when he was clutching a Christian self-help book on marriage, FYI.

When grilled about his tears, Justin Bieber revealed that he was crying about the complexities of marriage, explaining: "You got good days, and you got bad days. It's not real if it doesn't have any bad days."

Pretty deep for a 24-year-old dude who previously wrote the lyric, "Chillin' by the fire while we eating fondue", ammiright?

But just to go back to that book Biebs was holding. It's called The Meaning of Marriage: Facing the Complexities of Commitment With the Wisdom of God and is written by a Presbyterian 'mega-pastor' named Timothy Keller. According to a handful of Amazon reviews, it's a go-to read for both engaged and married Christians who want to live out their "marriage according to the Bible".

While we're not sure we'd be super stoked if our new fiancé was already seeking out help in our relationship, we've kinda got to give it to Biebs for being real about love and putting some solid effort into his relationship with Hailz.

Bring on the rather religious wedding!
