Earlier this year, we were stoked to hear the show YOU was coming to Netflix. Why, you ask? Well, the upcoming series is the very definition of 'hype'.

From the makers of Riverdale, starring Gossip Girl's Penn Badgley and Pretty Little Liar's Shay Mitchell aka all the best shows. And you betcha there are crazy similarities.

Throw in the fact it's based on Caroline Kepnes' best-selling novel and YOU well and truly has our eyeballs.

Oh, and it's also very important to note that Penn Badgley aka Dan Humphrey has aged like the finest of wines.

However, he's still up to his dastardly Dan Humphrey ways… this time using the hyper-connectivity of today's technology to make the woman of his dreams fall in love with him.

A plot synopsis from Netflix reads: "YOU, a Netflix Original Series, is the riveting and hypnotic story of Joe Goldberg (played by Penn Badgley), an obsessive yet brilliant New Yorker, who exploits today's technology to win the heart of Beck (Elizabeth Lail) amid the growing suspicions of her best friend Peach (Shay Mitchell).

"Joe transforms himself from stalker to boyfriend while doing whatever it takes to eliminate all obstacles standing in his way — even if it means murder.

"Set in today's 24/7 hyper-connected world, YOU explores how vulnerable we all are to stalking and manipulation online and in real life."

Good one, Dan. (Or Joe. Whatever.) As for its Netflix premiere date, you can expect YOU to come in weekly installments like Riverdale where it appears on the platform the day after its US air date on the Lifetime network.

From the trailer, it also looks like he kills Shay Mitchell's character 'Peach' which is totally not cool. But guess we'll have to see what transpires...
