Chrissy Teigen begged NOT to lose weight for modelling gigs

Sports Illustrated loves dem curves. And so do we.

Well, isn’t this refreshing. Chrissy Teigen has been told repeatedly not to lose any weight by the guys over at Sports Illustrated.

She told HuffPostLive that she’s experiences some weight hate from other parts of the fashion world but Sports Illustrated was the client that pushed her to keep her curves.

"Since I started modelling, I was actually the athletic, curvy one, which is so crazy because I can't play any sports, she said. "I am in no way curvy. I wish I had the hips and the little waist and everything. But I was always kind of more box-shaped."

"To them I was a catalogue girl or lingerie. I wasn't ever invited to walk in a New York Fashion Week fashion show," she said. "It wasn't something that ever crossed my mind, not just because of my size, but because of my height and everything too."

Chrissy said she first started noticing that the industry was becoming more body-positive when she met with Sports Illustrated for the first time and didn't even have to put on a swimsuit.

"I've done six Sports Illustrated shoots, and every single time I get an email from them hoping that I haven't lost weight," she said. "It's such a cool thing, no other client has ever said that to me, like, 'Please don't lose weight.'"
